Athens, Greece Pt.2

Honeymoon Series:

Athens, Greece Pt.2

Locations Visited:

Monastiraki, Roman Agora, Ancient Agora, Temple of Hephaestus, Kerameikos

Weather: Extremely hot, scorching sun, had to stay hydrated. Evening became bearable.

I am absolutely overwhelmed with everyone’s messages on this mini series, seriously! Isn’t Athens BEAUTIFUL? I highly, highly recommend planning a trip here because pictures can’t show the vibes of the city, I mean if pictures are this beautiful imagine how it would be in reality?! WELL, day 1 was clearly adventurous, but it didn’t end there because day 2 was even more action packed! We felt a little more familiar around the area we were staying, it was Jummah so we found a local Masjid to pray at, I don’t know if I mentioned this in my last post but Mashallah a good amount of Muslims! There wasn’t a area for women to pray, so I just waited outside.

Instead of sitting in Taxi’s we used Uber, it was the safest to use in Athens (we were told by locals to do so) so our Uber arrived and we headed towards our destination. Our drive was really nice (a good 20 mins), we saw more of the city which was extremely busy, we passed by a lot of familiar stores which honestly I wasn’t expecting (hey I’m new here). We arrived at “Monastiraki”, which is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Athens. It’s known for its narrow streets filled with lots of stores, street food and fresh fruits basically an open bazaar. Also (which I found SO interesting) in 1759 a Masjid was built, and is now used as a Museum and a Church. The flea market/bazaar has been held here since 1910 and runs until this day.

My husband is a TRUE fruit lover, so we stopped by some shops to pick up some fresh fruits, which he very much enjoyed (I am not a fruit person). We explored around, shopped a little and then made our way towards “Roman Agora”, which was walking distance as I mentioned in my previous posts that all the main places to be visited were planned around each other so we didn’t waste anytime. As we were approaching Roman Agora, the narrow streets were so beautiful of Monastiraki with so much history and richness, such a beautiful memory.

The timing we planned on arriving to Roman Agora worked out perfectly because it was not crowded at ALL. We literally had the place to ourselves, so reading about its history, taking photos and just enjoying the scene was very calm, except the sun we couldn’t leave our eyes open LOL. The Agora used to be the social and political center of the city, such as law courts, temples and stores. The remains here are of different times of History from the Romans to the Byzantines and Turkish. In which there were churches, workshops, and a Masjid (how interesting!). Everything was so beautiful, each column, pathway, entryway, even the arch of each ruin.

After exploring Roman Agora, we walked through Monastiraki, another side of it and that was another beautiful walk itself. We then made our way to “Ancient Agora”. This place used to be the main gathering place in the city. People here used to go to school, socialize with one another, do businesses, have entertainment, attend courts, and politics. The sun was a bit bare able by now, so we went ahead and explored the ruins read up about the history and ofcourse had a photo session 🙂

There was also a museum within the location, so we went and saw old ancient artifacts, how they made their pottery, how old statues were all in a line of their Gods and Goddesses (which I found so cool). We spent quite sometime there, also because there was AC soooooo yeah. After we were done with Ancient Agora, we made our way to the “Temple of Hephaestus”. The temple was located in Ancient Agora so our walk was a hill way up, and we made it! The Temple of Hephaestus, is the first temple to be made out of complete marble, from research it is mentioned that no one really knew which God was worshipped here. But within time of exploring the Temple, archeologists came across a discovery that the temple may have been to honor the dieties Athena Ergane (Goddess of Pottery)  and Hephaestus (Goddess of Volcanoes) because their statues were found. A very beautiful structure.

After we finished here, we made our way down back to  Monastiraki and then headed towards our final site- “Kerameikos”. By this time, the sun was not really “setting” but it was less sunny so we felt very good at this point. Our goal was to see every ruin before sunset and thankfully that was a succsess over all Alhamdulilah (Thank God). This location was not very big. I personally think because of how the sun was beginning to set, the location looked even more lovely. At this point my poor husband was so relieved we finished everything and this was our last stop LOL. Kerameikos, was once a potters headquaters of Athens. There is an ancient burial ground, two of the cities largest gates stood here, animal structures to represent the deceased and much more art all around.

The surroundings we were exploring was really interesting because, where the ruins we were exploring at had a dusty/sandy floor but at the same time there was green grass in other spots of the location. We walked around, saw the burial ground, we went inside and around some of the ruins, climbed up where the animals were structure for the deceased (majorly Lions). Our last stop was a very quick one because, the location was not as big compared to the other places we saw. We then sat down, looked around one more time, and took it all in, gave eachother high-fives on achieving our most tiring travel ❤ Once we were done, the sun was beginning to set, and we made our way back to the alleys of Monastiraki and came across a huge food strip of beautiful outdoor restaurants and live music (Oh God I miss the vibe).

We found a place to eat (Thank you Google for reviews) ordered some pasta, the famous stuffed vegetables, and a fresh Greek salad (it was a must for me with every meal). We watched the sun set across from us, enjoyed live music and had a very delicious meal. We then came back to where we started our day, Monastiraki sat there and enjoyed Athens night life, had some smoothies, ice cream, basically a junk food night :-). After all that, we headed back to our place to get ready and pack for our next destination in Greece…any guesses?

Much Love,

Athens, Greece Pt.1

Honeymoon Series:

Athens, Greece

Locations Visited:

Acropolis, Parthenon, Theater of Dionysos, Hadrian’s Arch, Temple of Zeus, Plaka

Weather: Extremely hot, scorching sun, had to stay hydrated. Evening became bearable.

First off, I am so flattered how many of you are appreciating this mini series! I’m just trying to do my best in giving pointers to traveling to different countries without panicking (that’s literally the best way I can describe it). Ladies, I cannot express how EXCITED I was to traveling to Greece…here’s a little background information about me. I was always very fond of World History growing up. I was an Art student in College, studied alot about the “Ancient” times, and LOVED my Art History classes. To me, this location was a dream come true…out of the books! The amount of excitement I had traveling to Athens (and Rome) were just out of this world. You know, when your growing up and learn about these places you dream of visiting one day (not knowing if you really ever will) but when you do, it’s a feeling of thankfulness of how God can make things work in mysterious ways Alhamdulilah (Thank God). My mysterious way was/is  my husband ❤ thank you for making my dreams come true, not just here but always.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh… ATHENS! Oh my goodness, this place was AH-MAZING. Like I said earlier, I read and dreamt of coming here and I did, I knew all the history of every single place, literally. I definitely made an itinerary for 2 days in Athens, because one day would NOT have worked. Well, we arrived a little later than our actual arrival time because our flight was delayed 3 times in Bulgaria due to weather conditions. So it was probably around 10-11pm that we arrived to our AirBNB, settled-in, we were starving so went out and found a cute corner cafe “Repeat Canteen”, and must I say…HIGHLY recommended if you go. We had a fresh oven-baked pizza and some yummy pastries. We then headed back, had a good nights sleep and next morning it was adventure time! This is when our honeymoon became “action packed adventure”. Breakfast was again at, Repeat Canteen, I finally had a delicious espresso (I hate coffee) but this was something else…I had 2 of them. Yup. That was my go-to drink in Greece…”Freddo Espresso”. I have asked Starbucks here and they look at me like “huh” so if any of you know the name or what I can get similar here PLEASE share.

We were then off to our first location of the day: “Acropolis”. Majority of the historical locations were here. Also related to as the “High City”, a huge hill looking over the city this is also the home of the famous “Parthenon”. The Acropolis is the authentic symbol of Greek Civilization (going back to the Neolithic Period) with its most important main structures: The Parthenon, The Propylaea, The Erechtheum and The Temple of Athena. Standing at the top of this high hill, you can see almost all of Athens, and remaining sites of Greek mythology. I was overly excited to get this day started, so we walked up through the “Beule Gate” (we did have to purchase tickets to enter) and then there was more walking towards the top of the Acropolis. Today was the day that we officially became sun burnt…we forgot to apply sunscreen when leaving and now it was just too late. In the photos you can see how near the sun was, literally in our faces. We both dressed accordingly to what I read about the weather, HOT. But hey, it was ALL worth it.

We took our time getting to the top, because we were both so fascinated by the architecture and this is where we came across the “Theater of Dionysos” also known as the birth place of European theater (how cool). The Greeks would hold rituals for the God Dionysos but now unfortunately the theater has become very old, so it has limited performances, while we were there they were preparing for an orchestra. It was beautiful to see. As we began to make our way to the top of the Acropolis, it was peak time of “tourist traffic”. I think this was the most difficult place to take pictures, it took us plenty of tries to get a few good shots ( P.S. this is when my husband started getting annoyed of me LOL). Now since this is a very old location, there were some handles made to hold on to and ramps on top of cracks and holes for the safety of the tourists it was still a little dangerous but the security did a great job of monitoring everyone so two thumbs up there!

And finally we were at the top of the Acropolis and like a kid in a candy store I stood there, looked around and spotted my eye candy…the Parthenon. My smile, if it could stretch off of my face in that moment I’m sure it would have, yeah THAT’S how happy I was. It was so beautiful, so historic, so real. This was the worlds most ancient surviving structure of Ancient Greece, let that sink in. Built for the Goddess Athena, this structure has gone through many places of worship- a fortress, a mosque and a church. I had a final on this image, and I remembered every little detail I had written on my 5 page essay (known by heart) on this piece. And I was there, standing right in front of it, knowing every details of the columns, representation, and so much more. Ladies, I’m literally pouring my heart out here haha.

My husband was standing next to me, and saw all those expressions on my face and was like “wow, this meant THAT much to you?” Yeah husband, it did. I think the entire time we were up there, I kept turning around to him and saying “thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing me here” and just smiled back and said “I’ve learned so much from you, you have so much knowledge of all these places”. Now that was the cherry on top <3. I promise ladies, I am trying to make this post VERY to the point because if I sit here and go into details, trust me it’ll end up being a book. We then explored around, took our time reading, took many photos, bumped into so many different kinds of people from around the world. Acropolis was done and checked off the list, and we began to head towards “Hadrian’s Arch” and the “Temple of Zeus” they were literally right next to eachother.

Hadrian’s Arch was a quick stop because it was a huge Arch on the road way, which basically divided “Old Athens” and “New Athens”. With that checked off, we made our way to the temple. Now this was the largest temple in Ancient Greece, bigger than the Parthenon. The temple used to have statues inside, but due to time they became ruined. One huge pillar is on the floor, it was mentioned of an earthquake had ruined the temple. By this time, the crowd had become less and we just sat down and took a break watching the sun getting ready to set and have its rays on the temple. The weather had become a liiiiiittttllleeee bit cooler than what we were going through. After a good half and hour of relaxing, we made our way to find some food and that was towards “Plaka”.

Plaka, as I read would be one the most “enchanting places in Athens” and you know what? It lived up to that sentence. This was a village within a city. Narrow streets filled with beautiful homes turned into strips of cafes, restaurants, live entertainment and loads of shops for shopping. It was extremely busy, but I loved the vibe. Each restaurant/cafe had their menu listed outside, we read through them and noticed majority of the menus were the same so we just picked a romantic restaurant and sat outside. The vibes of this place was so beautiful, we had a live violinist, candle lit dinner, delicious foods (we tried the Greek speciality which were stuffed tomatoes) and drinks. I must say, everyone was SO welcoming and kind, positive vibes everywhere that I felt like a true honored guest ❤

After having a beautiful dinner experience, we just explored around Plaka. Of course I had to get myself some souvenirs, so we shopped around.  As we were walking around, I saw so many people with this interesting looking ice cream and those who know me know I LOVE ice cream. We then came across a long line, and guess what it was? The cool looking ice cream! I forgot the flavor I got, but oh my goodness it was SO delicious. I obviously didn’t want to share so made my husband get me my own :-). The remaining of the night we just enjoyed in Plaka, the weather became lovely and Athens was extremely lit at night. And that ladies, concludes part 1 in Greece. Stay tuned for my next post because it’ll take your BREATH away! Trust me ❤

Much Love,

Nelo .A.

HELLO 2018!

HELLO 2018

OKAY.LET.ME.SINK.IT.ALL.IN. MY LAST BLOG POST WAS IN JUNE?! And I KNOW, I was not consistent before that because of ALL wedding stress/mess I was going through because let me tell you ladies, planning a wedding is NOT.EASY. Anywho, with all that being said… HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO 222222222000000001111888888888!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS. NEW YEAR NEW ME HUH? I really, REALLY hope so because I need to get BACK on my game, and hit it HARD Inshallah (God Willing). Because there is SO much to be done and accomplished.

SO! How are all of you beautiful ladies doing?! Goodness, I REALLY missed writing. I really did. I am not going to be a grandma, and go back in time and mention all the reasons why I haven’t been up to date on my blog, but I am going to apologize. I know, I have been receiving emails, Instagram DMs, and FB messages and I HAVE replied to them (so you cannot hold me accountable for that!). So ladies, I do apologize for not being active here and my goal is to again get BACK on it ❤

Well, how is the New Year treating everyone so far? I hope Inshallah (God Willing) it is going GREAT for everyone, and I pray all of you achieve what your hearts desire within this year <3. How about me you ask? Well…not bad. Alhamdulilah (Thank God). Those who are actively active on my Instagram page see what I have been up to (and if you’re not get hip!). I am just trying to get some work related things together, balancing my  life out AND planning some good things for you all Inshallah (God Willing). So yup! I have been juggling looooooots of things, but I ain’t complaining.

As many of you know, I was not here for NYE. It’s been on my bucket list to go to Dubai for NYE, and thats where I was<3. I have been to the U.A.E. many times, but NYE was always that oooone thing I really wanted to experience. I was beyond anxious and impatient to see the fireworks live in front of the Burj-Khalifa and my face lighting up like a little kid with excitement ooohing and aaaahing. Unfortunetly, this year there were no fire works 😦 but instead (since its Dubai, and you’ll NEVER be disappointed) they had a light show, “Light Up 2018”. Which was VERY different, and VERY fun. There was live entertainment, fresh foods, drinks, teas, a open ground filled with people gathered around the Burj-Khalifa enjoying their night away.

Time flew by very quickly, we walked (my husband and I) in to the entrance of the Dubai Fountain at 7pm, found the perfect place and view to sit, and literally danced the night away! I wish I could speak into this post, because I had the time of my life Alhamdulilah (Thank God). So I am reallyyyy emphasizing in this post so you ladies can get a feel of how amazing this experience was to me. The Light UP show was SO loud, that the beat of each laser was hitting into my veins (like how fireworks give you that very strong thump feeling inside your body). Thats honestly the BEST way I can describe it to you all. At the same time, I was thinking about how all the years I would come with my family that I kept telling myself one day I will come with my spouse and experience our “first” NYE in Dubai, and Subhanallah (Glory be to God) it happened. So I was having lots of emotional moments here and there at the time, and kept thanking my husband for bringing me where I always wanted to come for NYE (I love you).

I would love to know how everyones New Years went? Anything special? Anything different? Please feel free to share with me ❤ Before I end this post, what I will be doing is posting the places to be visited while in Dubai, because my Instagram DM was filled with you all asking me about all the hot spots, etc. So yes, I will be sharing that with you all, not to worry! Sharing is caring, cannot get greedy now right? ❤

I love you all SO much, and thank you SO much for always supporting me in all of this ❤

Much love,

Nelo .A.

Fall Vibes

Fall Vibes

To all of my dearest followers, I apologize for such a late post and to my new followers, welcome!  How is everyone doing? I am most definite, everyone is GREAT and enjoying this gorgeous Fall weather (well, sorta). Honestly, this weather has been SO bipolar, “sweater weather” was probably like 3/4 days, other than that the weather has been between 75-80 degrees! But hey, I’m so over it, I still rock my boots and sweaters even if I am being stared at…

Speaking of this weather, I went exploring today in an old historic area we have near by! “Historic Occoquan”. I have never been, but I am so happy I did. My girls and I had a fun little Fall adventure, took advantage of the weather, stuffed our faces with food near the waterfront, and ofcourse…had them take pictures of me (Thanks Sidra/Hareem <3)

Okay ladies, this place was SO cute. I’m all about “old times” and “old is gold” moments, (thats why I always get called a grandma…). Up until now, they have a “Fall Festival” for the community, pumpkins, a real haunted mansion (no one wanted to go with me) cute little painting stop, a witch boutique, a fashion vintage boutique, a old time ice cream shop, a secret hidden garden cafe (which I have yet to try!) and so much more!

It is also a residential area, so the town homes are SO.FREAKING.ADORABLE.  The weather was again, beautiful and yes beautiful enough to wear a skirt and a hat ❤ And yes, my skirt is from my line L’Noor (visit my link for details). I have been wearing dark Fall lip colors, but for this adventure, I decided to tone it down a bit (still wearing a purple shade though…). You can see all of the Fall beauty in these photos, and the beauty of the place as well. Trees are still changing colors, which makes me even more happy because that means Fall isn’t ending anytime soon!

Take a look for yourself…

Radiant Pearls

My oh, my! How are my beautiful ladies doing? I hope all of you are well and in good health Inshallah (God Willing). I also hope everyone had an amazing Eid-Al-Adha, and whoever went for Hajj (Holy Pilgrimage) returned safely home to their loved ones Inshallah (God Willing). And lastly…HAPPY FALL.

I know I have been a busy bee for a while, but that’s not an excuse! I am actually so thrilled to share this post with you because it has been QUITE an adventure with this blog post (ladies, you have no idea). BUT! Being the crazy perfectionist that I am, and the insane wind I was dealing with (and rain)..I DID IT.

I believe we have officially entered “Fall” today. That fall crisp air, smell of fresh wood, and that chilly breeze was all there (minus the rain). All I am waiting for is for the trees to finally change colors, because that beauty always strikes me Subhanallah (Glory be to God). With that said, I am honored (again) to say that here is another Collaboration with the most talented HIjab companies ever, The Hijab Souq (Keep it up Fatima).

Here ladies, the Hijab that I am wearing is from the “Radiant Pearls” Collection, in the color “Dark Red”. This piece, has pearls not only on one edge, but all around with a tiny chain detail. The Hijab is VERY wide (which is so helpful to keep a good coverage) and you can literally do any style without being concerned if your back/neck/hair is showing.

I did a simple draped Hijab, but had the pearls hang down my right shoulder so you ladies can see how beautifully it is made. And before you ladies ask me…”what about dark lips?!” I actually decided on a nice neutral tone, to balance it with the Hijab. Otherwise, Fall and Dark lips? Yes please.

I kept my outfit “All Black” ofcourse, because again I did not want to take any attention away from the Hijab. The Hijab is of linen & cotton blend, so totally breathable and comfortable for any season and occasion. This piece also comes in a variety of colors such as nude, yellow, blue, gray, beige, and black! To place your order visit http://www.thehijabsouq.com

Aaaaaand there you have it ladies of another wonderful collaboration, feel free to comment below I would love to hear your feed back as always! Much more to come soon Inshallah (God Willing).

Neutrals & Pearls

Happy Friday Ladies!

My, oh my! I know my last blog post was my “Eid Looks”, and I did not post after that in which I apologize dearly! But if you follow me on Instagram (@fashion.with.nelo) I have been active there…(I know, that’s not an excuse). But I am here now, and back with another…COLLABORATION!

From the title, you ladies guessed it...”Neutrals & Pearls”. Okay, honestly this look was SO difficult for me to handle, because I cannot pull of neutrals *tear*. No matter HOW much I have tried, I just cannot! Some tips ladies?! Nothing wrong in learning some neutral tone tips ahhhhh. Even though during this photo-shoot I did get compliments BUT still (oh the things I do for you ladies ❤ ).

Re-introducing the one and only…The Hijab Souq ❤ Do I really have to tell you ladies (again) on how GREAT their Hijabs are?! Mashallah. The Hijab I am wearing here is the “Beige Pearl Hijab”. This is probably the most Summer friendly Hijab I own, literally. A very breathable-light-weight-cotton fabric, with hand-beaded single pearls attached all along the width of the Hijab.

I always like to keep my Hijab styles very simple, but elegant and thats exactly what I did here. I thought to myself “how can I really show these pearls, but in a different way?” Voila! Looks like a side braid doesn’t it?! I cannot tell you ladies how much I adore it (I love how I’m complimenting myself). But the secret is…it’s not a braid! And guess what…if you ladies REALLY like this Hijab look, I can do my first “official” Hijab tutorial woohoo! Just comment below.

As for my outfit, I did not want to take any attention away from the Hijab so I did a simple white button down top from H&M, gaucho pants from H&M, nude heels from Charlotte Russe, Chanel handbag from Chanel and some of my basic accessories.

And that’s a wrap my loves ❤ Feel free to comment below. To get your own Pearl Hijab and many other Hijabs visit, http://www.thehijabsouq.com

Eid Look #3

Eid Al-Fitr Look #3

Hello Ladies ❤

Thank you all so much for your patience in waiting for this post. Alhamdulilah (Thank God) I am feeling much better than before, appreciate the well wishes from all ❤ I also wanted to say, thank you ALL from across the GLOBE for the love and support with my “Eid Look Book”. It honestly gives me so much happiness ❤ ❤ ❤

I promise you it was worth the wait (I personally like this look out of the other 2). Eid Look #3 is my collaboration with the talented “The Hijab Souq”. This Hijab boutique, has a variety of Hijabs and by variety I mean VARIETY Mashallah. From fancy, to casual, to the color you love they have it all! The Hijab I am wearing here is from one of their most popular lines known as the “Royal Lace Hijab” in the color Black. And all of you alreadyyyy know my love with “black and gold”, this Hijab was love at first sight ❤

A very light-weight material, a little close to crinkle but not so much. Perfect for Spring, Summer and even Fall! The gold lace on the end of the Hijab is a good “over exaggerated” amount, I mean who doesn’t love lace?! This Hijab went P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. (and every other one)  with my “neutral” Eid Look Book this year (I am still surprised I did neutral tones…). The style I did with this hijab is a “hood” look. So you can see the beautiful lace.

The top I am wearing is a beautiful olive but not olive green shade (ladies, when I said I am doing colors I never do, its the truth). I have been eyeballing this top for a WHILE, so when I saw it on sale I grabbed it right away (why not?!) Plus this kind of work and style is from my culture, so thats another reason 😉

It also has a beautiful embroidered back, with florals. Very light-weight and very comfortable. Ofcourse, I paired it with a black under shirt and black tights, and did a nice nude heel to balance the colors out. For accessories (MY FAVORITE) I used the Embroidered Clutch from The Hijab Souq, another elegant piece (mentioned in my other collab with them), gold bangles, my MK watch and both rings are from my trip to the UAE. Lastly, I did a “pop” of red lips to complete the look!

Aaaaand there you have it ladies, the last and final Eid Look of this Look Book! Be sure to take advantage in these last (2-3) nights of Ramadan. May Allah accept all of our fasts and acts of worship Inshallah Ameen! I would love to hear feed back, whether its through email, DM, or comments you all know I always reply! Again, thank you all for the love and support ❤

Take care ladies, and Inshallah next post with be for Eid! And more collaborations to come from The Hijab Souq ❤

Hoping all of you enjoyed your lovely weekend! I defiantly did…with all of these amazing Iftar gatherings (plus the millions pounds I have added). Let’s hope I fit into my Eid clothes, which by the way I have not made yet…whoops! Thank you all for the love on my first Eid Look, so happy you all loved it ❤

Eid Look #2 is my collaboration with The Hijab Vault ❤ I honestly am OBSESSED with all of their Hijabs Mashallah. I think I have always expressed my love and appreciation for these Hijabs, because they really ARE that praise worthy ❤ The hijab I am wearing here is the “One-Edged Pearl & Chain”.  A very elegant and light weight Hijab, perfect for the Summer. This Hijab comes in beautiful summer shades such as purple, blush, blues, nudes, and pinks. This Hijab line is exclusively for Ramadan and Eid, so ladies be sure to get yours before they are sold out! And trust me…they are going fast.

Again, I am sticking to all neutral tones, so this Hijab was perfect for this look.  I did a simple, side drape for the one edge of the pearls to show. I am wearing a floral cape top (sadly, the wind was not cooperating with me, but the sleeves are of cape design). I paired it with black tights, and a nice pair of black Kitten Heels which are a life saver when you’re a oldie like myself (lol).

For the accessories, I felt the florals were already so much so I just did some bangles, one ring, and ofcourse my favorite Chanel bag ❤ ❤ ❤ And lastly, for my lip color I did a pop of pink! Well, what do you ladies think? I would love to hear feed back! Make sure you follow me on Instagram as well (@fashion.with.nelo) and my FB page (FashionWithNelo) ❤

Last and final Eid look will be up in a few days! Stay tuned mi amours!

Eid Look #1

EID Al-Fitr 2016 Look #1

Happy Weekend!

How are all of my ladies from around the globe doing? How is Ramadan going for all of you? I hope Ramadan is going well and has brought very good changes in the all of you (including me) Inshallah (God Willing). Can you believe we are already in the Last 10 days? Subhanallah (Glory be to God). A week before Ramadan I took out all of my Abayas, ironed them and hung them nicely for Tarawih Prayers. And now, we are at the end of the month.

May Allah accept all of our worship and fasts during the beautiful month and that we live to see the next Inshallah (God Willing) Ameen. It has been a year of my blogging life, and I am so overwhelmed with the love I have received from each and every single one of you. Not only from the States, but from across the world! Thank you all so much. If it wasn’t for the love, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today ❤

Last year I did the “Eid Look Book” and honestly I was kind of hesitant about my looks. Everyones style is different, so thought what the outcome would be. And Alhamdulilah (Thank God) it was very positive. All of my Eid looks were loved by all of you, and this time I am way more confident in sharing more inspirations with you all ❤

I have kept a color scheme for this Look Book. I have worked with all neutral tones. The reason I did so, was because neutrals can go with any skin color, and I have come to realize that. This Summer I pushed myself to wear more nudes/blush tones. And surprisingly, I kind of like it. So for those of you who are worried, don’t be! Trust me, you will look fabulous!

Many of you loved and I mean LOVED the sequins look I did last Eid. So thought why not do something similar but different this year. Again, all neutral tones but added a bit of sparkle to it ❤ I balanced the entire look with a Black Hijab (you can never go wrong with black) and a nice shade lippie. I mixed and matched gold and silver (which I never do) and thats that! What do you ladies think? Feel free to leave comments below! Stay tuned for another look in a few days!

Much Love,

Nelo .A.
